Afrim for Easy Mondays
Where there’s cheese there’s Afrim.” A familiar adage to any loyal Torontonian. One might consider “Boutique” to be a little ostentatious for the title of a cheese store, but those who’ve experienced it would beg to differ. The Cheese Boutique started as a gourmet grocer with a focus on a wide selection of fine cheeses but has since expanded into a Bodega, flower shop, and food truck. Tucked away on a small street in Toronto’s West End the boutique has usurped the majority of the block on which it stands… the block of cheese, if you will.
Afrim puts every ounce of his passion into his craft. The Cheese Boutique is one of those rare establishments in which you can sense how much they care about everything they do. Afrim and his family have gone above and beyond to create a cheese experience that encourages you to try new things, and challenge the limits of your palate. Simply put, Afrim loves cheese, one look at his Instagram reveals exactly how strongly he feels about it. His famous “12 Days Of Cheesemas” is a must watch series outlining 12 holiday appropriate cheeses and their ideal spread, bread, and wine pairing.
Unsurprisingly, a man who claims to be a “Certified Cheese Master” doesn’t have a ton of downtime. Afrim is always on the move; sometimes it's an all out street party and sometimes it's a nationally televised cheese tasting, but he's always prepared. One moment he’s deep in the cheese vault, the next he’s hauled up in the meat locker, and there’s always a hand to shake when he emerges. When roaming the boutique you’ll see Afrim in his Organic Cotton Hoodie and Pants, when on camera he’ll be rocking his Ruby Colourblock Hoodie, and when it’s chilly he loves his Quilted Nylon Jacket. Afrim knows only one brand covers all his bases, it’s Easy Mondays.
